Falkenmark praised for work on water management
Professor Malin Falkenmark receives the H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation's Award for Water and Desertification.
Falkenmark, who is involved in centre research related to food, water and ecosystems, received the award at the 2010 Shanghai Expo.

She received the award for her "outstanding work on protecting natural resources" and promoting the concepts of environmental science through her science.

"It is a huge honour and marvelous encouragement to have been selected for the 2010 Water Award," says Falkenmark.

About the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation
In June of 2006, H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco decided to set up his Foundation in order to address alarming environmental threats.

The foundation works for environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development on a worldwide scale. It supports initiatives implemented by public and private organisations in the fields of research, technological innovation and awareness.

ABOUT FALKENMARK
Professor Falkenmark is a globally renowned water expert and currently serves as Senior Scientific Advisor to the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). She joined Stockholm Resilience Centre in March 2007.
